Tome Consulting has been awarded a medium-term consulting contract from a Danish service company that takes care of utilities, operation and administration. The assignment concerns interim management for a department with a focus on stakeholder management, day-to-day operations, and management.
In addition, a ‘health check’ is carried out on the organisation’s operating model in collaboration with the executive board.
2022-12-28 Tome Consulting – the year in brief
As 2022 draws to a close we look back at the last couple of months.
The year has yet again been characterized by a long-term customer relationship with a Nordic insurance group, starting all the way back in 2020. The last part of the delivery concerned the merging of processes up to and the implementation of a Nordic merger. The assignment has been carried out in close collaboration with the Nordic HR management, the program management of the merger project, as well as other consulting firms. In addition, the year has been peppered with a number of tasks within software selection, assistance related to commercial management, market analysis, organizational dimensioning and most recently an interim project.

2022-04-01 Tome Consulting completes M&A workstream
Tome Consulting has today completed a consulting assignment for a leading player in the Nordic insurance industry. The assignment has primarily focused on the preparation of a service catalogue (process overview) for two merging business areas with a focus on what should be in place before the merger as well as an idea catalogue of possible focus areas after the merger. In addition to change management and cross-border collaboration, the implementation track has involved the formulation of design principles as well as communication to the business and training of the business area’s managers and employees in connection with changed key processes.
The assignment has been carried out in close collaboration with the Nordic HR management, the program management of the merger project, as well as other consulting firms – and it is the culmination of the solid work of many hands over these past many months.

True to tradition, here at the end of the year we look back at the time that has passed.
In 2021, especially one client assignment has been in focus – namely first the completion of the strategy work for a Nordic insurance group, then the management of their change program and now the workstream management in connection with the upcoming merger next year. As we also witnessed last year, most of the work was delivered at a distance.
In addition, there has been room for several smaller assignments such as a software selection process as well as training of customer-facing behaviour at a major client together with a partner.

2021-09-06 Tome Consulting hands over program to the basic organization
With the establishment of a Nordic community, the client – a leading insurance player – is now ready for the transition from implementation to basic operations. The community focuses on creating a common direction, forming ambitions at a Nordic level and continues to optimize the operating model together with the Nordic HR management. The collaboration with Tome Consulting continues on a more ad hoc basis in the form of a prepaid card for consulting services.

The program focuses on implementing an optimized and unified operating model and will implemented in close collaboration with the Nordic HR leadership team.

Tome Consulting has won a consulting assignment for a leading player in insurance industry. The assignment deals with the implementation of the recently completed strategy work regarding optimization and unification of the operating model across several countries. In addition to the program management itself, we lead four initiatives in the form of multiple cross-border interviews and surveys in order to formulate customer insights and optimized customer journeys as well as more operations-related tasks.

2020-12-23 Tome Consulting – the year in brief
2020 has been a different year in many ways. And that applies to the whole world.
In mid-March, the Danish society almost came to a complete standstill. Together with the clients, however, we had reformulated their critical contingency plans so that operations could continue. For us, this meant an increased focus on digital platforms – with a.o. a new website and facilitation of strategy and client workshops via virtual channels.
In fact, we have completed more than 20 virtual workshops with clients nationally and abroad based on the same mode of operation as when facilitating them physically. However, a new bag of tricks and changed preparation routines were called for – and we are hardly the only ones who must spend more energy on reading the participants’ engagement, energy level and mood than usual… In sum, together we achieved our goals. Thank you all for your efforts.

At Tome Consulting we have taken our own medicine and used the quiet period to get our new website off the ground. Thanks to Pixelmade for helping out with the design and all the technical stuff.
As always, the focus is on business development in the form of management consulting, marketing and sales management. Everyone is welcome – if you are a customer, potential ditto, partner, friend of the house or just curious, the pages are ready for you to explore.
2020-03-08 CSR initiative
Tome Consulting is supporting the SMIL Foundation with a GO-CARD postcard campaign so that their important message is widely disseminated. They make a huge effort with social family events for children with serious and chronic illnesses in treatment in Danish hospitals.
The campaign runs this and next week at 540 cafes and movie theaters across the country, so you can easily reach for a few of the great postcards. Read more about the SMIL Foundation’s events here.

As 2019 draws to a close we take a look back at the last couple of months.
We have made our best result since I founded Tome Consulting back in 2015, a feat which could not have been achieved without the help of customers, partners and friends of the house – so thank you to everyone for all your efforts.
The year has been characterized by a longer assignment with interim management and management support with the incredibly talented Obviux team, a subsidiary of the green energy company Ørsted. We have been on a fantastic exciting journey together, which I will always look back on with happy thoughts. And together we achieved our goals. Thanks to everyone on the team. 2019-10-15 Software start-up based on cloud platform
The technical part of Obviux‘ journey from lean start-up with 2 employees towards a 20-man DevOps organization on a scalable AWS platform is in the press. For several months, Tome Consulting has been involved as interim manager in the agile business unit. The digital journey of one of our customers is portraied in the magazine Lederne (pp. 36-38) under the theme Digital management: “The way forward for Ørsted’s private consumer business was to simplify the product portfolio and the unusual model of establishing an independent startup, which among other things was to implement a new IT system”. 2018-12-22 Tome Consulting – the year in brief
2018 became the year in which the management support concept transformed into a longer interim management assignment as well as management support at both a number of well-known and new clients alike… And the year in which a team of experts helped develop an app prototype together with a client – a client who is now looking into a real market test and later development and launch of an app.
Other tasks have involved strategy and management communication, advice on commercial start-up at a few smaller companies, innovation and idea pipeline management for a larger company, as well as development and implementation of a new operating model for a business unit in a larger Danish energy company – an assignment that also offers daily interim management with a fantastic team.

2018-03-30 First quarter summary
The first quarter has offered several different assignments in form of e.g. executive management support for two existing clients and the formulation of a market strategy for a new client looking for further commercialization and market presence. Additionally, a Tome Consulting development team has commenced building an app prototype to an existing client. Common to all the assignments is the capacity for natural extensions – for example, the experiences from the management support sessions are now collected in a concept that will be marketed, the market strategy is currently in the process of being implemented in collaboration with the client’s senior management and specialists from Tome Consulting. Upon successful development, the app is to be presented to the client’s board of management and other primary stakeholders. Lots of exciting threads for the second quarter.
2017-12-20 Tome Consulting – the year in brief
Having completed the final assignment of the year and now looking forward to spending quality time with the family, I wish to extend my thanks to clients, partners and friends of Tome Consulting alike for a profitable 2017.
The tasks solved during the year have been quite diverse, however, all of them have involved close cooperation with clients’ senior management and key individuals. Deliveries have included the formulation and implementation of strategies and go-to-market plans, customer touchpoint evaluation, competitor analysis, programme communication as well as providing management support. Several assignments have had management support as an important component; for experienced and less experienced executives alike. Focus has been on creating bandwidth to get the strategy in place and make room for important decision and changes. One client describes that process as “a gift from the executive board”, another as “a lifeline in an overly busy time”. In sum, we have worked closely together to get in touch with key stakeholder needs, set the direction and cleared the critical deliveries that can be hard to reach in an otherwise busy schedule. 2017-03-31 Consulting assignment evaluating customer touchpoints completed
Tome Consulting has today completed a market analysis for a client in the service sector. The goal was to determine the perceived value creation at selected customer touchpoints as well as ascertain whether the right product and service mix is being offered. Through qualitative personal interviews and telephone interviews the customer experience for a greater number of respondents was uncovered focusing on the customers’ perception of the product concepts and where appropriate, adjustments should be introduced.
Both the method and questionnaire were co-created with the client and the final report contained an idea catalogue with recommendations for improvements to be implemented by the client. One major point of improvement with also this client was a needed emphasis on the internal and external customer communication in order to strengthen the customer journey.
2016-12-21 Tome Consulting – the year in brief
On one of the final days of the year I want to extend my thanks to clients, partners and friends of Tome Consulting alike for assisting us reaching our targets for yet another year. One of the milestones for 2016 has been the final implementation of contactless payments with the Swipp-app in stores and taxies with selected Verifone payment terminals (read more below). A product vision and technical solution that will carry over in the owners’ partnership with MobilePay. Good luck to everyone in the Swipp team.
Additionally, Tome Consulting has assisted a number of minor clients, where the role as start-up coach has been in demand. Great to see so many of them catch momentum. Moreover, new partnerships have been formed and we expect mutual inspiration to follow from these in the coming year.

2016-10-01 Start up client gains momemtum
One of our smaller clients – a start-up company offering consulting services within project and programme management – has with assistance from Tome Consulting trimmed their pipeline and in the process won a long-term deal with a company in the financial industry. The solution was comprised of start-up coaching sessions, sales management and negotiation training.
2016-07-01 Mobile payments now available in Copenhagen taxis
Danish taxi company 4×27, Verifone and Swipp join forces to offer mobile payments in taxis. The project is a result of a collaboration where Tome Consulting has paved the way by managing stakeholders and parts of the product development.

2016-06-24 Consulting assignment within business strategy formulation completed
Tome Consulting has today completed a strategy assignment for a client, where the input from the board and senior management concerning vision, mission, burning platform and aspiration were to be operationalized. The consulting work consisted primarily in crystalizing a number of Must-win Battles, business goals and objectives through a number of workshops across the different business units and consolidating the findings in a company business strategy together with the management team. The business strategy was then communicated to and anchored with the employees of the organization via a townhall session and additional events.
2016-04-27 Product development within mobile payments completed
Tome Consulting, having for a period played the part as project manager at Swipp, has today seen the accomplishments in form of a new product feature, allowing for contactless payments with the Swipp-app in stores with selected Verifone payment terminals by placing the smart phone next to the terminal (tap-to-pay).
2016-04-06 Project highlighted at Money 20/20 keynote
June Felix, European president of Verifone, discussed new payment solutions at Money 20/20 Europe earlier today – apart from all the great international brands, Danish Swipp and its payment app allowing tap-to-pay at the Verifone payment terminals was in focus. Great traction for the project where Tome Consulting acts as project manager.

Social & Healthcare College Zealand (SOSU Sjaelland), the Vocational Training Centre, has appointed Tom Elberling to its newly-formed Advisory Board led by CEO Søren Clausen. As an advisory board member, Tom brings a diverse set of commercial acumen and business strategy expertise and experience to SOSU Sjaelland.
About SOSU Sjaelland
SOSU Sjaelland offers education to some 1,700 students and more than 9,000 course participants a year (2014 figures). The permanent staff consists of 250 persons working with administration, service and teaching. Educations include Social and Health Care Workers step 1 and 2, Educator assistants and Academy Profession Degree in sciences, health practice. SOSU Sjaelland has departments in Naestved, Greve, Holbaek and Slagelse/Ringsted.

2015-04-30: Consultancy assignment completed
Tome Consulting has today completed a consultancy assignment for a client focusing on optimization of risk management processes by means of risk management tools and related advisory services. The assignment consisted of a revamp of the client’s business model and formulation of a sales manual based on value propositions and key sales messages as well as market testing the material with CFOs at two selected potential customers within industrial project sales and financial services – two very different venues where risk management ranks high on the C-level agenda. The collaboration with the client continues focusing on sales coaching and extra management muscle with regards to pipeline management and sales activities at targeted key customers.
2015-02-19: Website gone live
Tome Consulting’s website has today gone live. The site is based on WordPress, with logo and design guidelines developed by Hausfrau Design. Web design and all practical aspects were supplied with help from Pixelmade. Both these firms will in future be included in our business partner portfolio.
